From 6th to 15th June 2012, the Alliance française de Glasgow as part of the Glasgow Science Festival will show an exhibition about renewable energies which is designed for schools: it is bilingual French-English, didactical and of interest in the scheme of the Curriculum for Excellence. This is a great opportunity for schools to combine a scientific subject with French and for the pupils to work with French scientists.
On June 6th and 7th, two French scientists will come to the Alliance française de Glasgow to organise workshops (free of charge) for the pupils around the exhibition. Please book in advance!

1-17 June 2011: French exhibitions for schools about chemistry
The Alliance Française is hosting in June the exhibitions “Marie Curie (1867 - 1934)” and “Chemistry in our everyday life” as part of the Glasgow Science Festival and the International Year of Chemistry 2011.
Designed for a wide audience with a bilingual approach (French & English), both exhibitions offer the opportunity to discover a little more about chemistry and its most famous discoveries.
“Marie Curie (1867 - 1934)” aims to present the life and work of Marie Curie through pictures and documents given by the Curie Museum in Paris. The panels will take you from her childhood in Warsaw to the Nobel Prizes and other honours she received for her amazing contributions to science.
“Chemistry in our everyday life” presents a new chemistry in full renewal which explores unexpected areas of our lives such as food, painting, cosmetics and personal hygiene products. Chemistry is indeed all around us: take this opportunity to discover this fascinating science!
Exhibitions open to schools: Using documents and panels in both French and English, these events offers an original and educative approach of the scientific world.
So come and see the exhibitions with your pupils on a scheduled visit: it would be an excellent way to combine French and Sciences, as part of the Curriculum for Excellence and the crosscurricular topics.
