    After a whirlwind tour of Scotland, the dance troupe Le Quadrille d’Elsa brings its Savoyard savoir-faire to the Institut for a talk and dance workshop, transporting participants to a different rhythm in time: June 17th, 1875 in Aix-Les-Bains, at the foot of the Alpes, besides the Lac du Bourget.

Scripted by Jacques Prévert and Pierre Laroche, the film was banned from theaters for the duration of the occupation for its dark portrayal of the hedonistic excesses of the ruling class. Today, it is often singled out as Jean Grémillon’s greatest achievement.
