COVID-19 update

From 15 April to 31 August

The health and safety of all of you, our staff, teachers, members, students and public is a priority and we hope that you are all safe and keeping well. Due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus, the Institut français d’Ecosse has decided to close its doors to the public from Wednesday 18 March until further notice but remains active online to help you get through these exceptional times.

For all French citizens living in Scotland, we invite you to consult the website of the Consulat général de France à Edimbourg et Glasgow to stay informed of the latest updates. Nous vous invitons à suivre le site du Consulat général de France à Edimbourg et à Glasgow qui continue d’être mis à jour en temps réel.

LIBRARY UPDATE

The library remains closed at the moment but we are monitoring closely the Scottish government guidelines and will keep you updated about its reopening.

You can now start returning the books and other items borrowed before the lockdown by dropping them in a special box at the main entrance of the Institute between Monday and Friday from 9 am to 1 pm.

LANGUAGE CENTRE

Our French classes continue ONLINE. Learn about our different offers on our Learn French webpage. Part of the classes will consist of videoconferences with your teacher and the rest of the class. We have chosen to use ZOOM (videoconferencing) and APOLEARN (eLearning solution platform) as our online platforms. Find out more about our online options here.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The cultural activities at the Institute are on pause at the moment but we are working on welcoming you back as soon as the Institute reopens by making sure our events follow the social distancing measures in place.

We invite you to keep following our social media platforms as we continue to promote French culture through our newly created cultural blog: offering ideas of books to read, music to listen to, films to watch, recipes to try and more importantly by keeping you connected to the French community and culture.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us by email at frenchclassesife gmail.com if you have any questions.
