Café Art: Georges Braque

Wednesday 30 October 2013 17:30-19:00

An interesting artist who, in his own words, was much preoccupied with ’the painting of space’, Braque was involved with the Fauve, Cubist and Abstract movements throughout the first half of the 20th century. Braque was of course close to Picasso but also friendly with musicians and poets of his time. We shall look at different aspects of his life and art.

A new exhibition - the first since 1973 to be devoted to Braque’s contribution to modern art - opens at the Grand Palais in Paris on 18 September 2013 and will run until 6 January 2014.
