Café Art: Maurice Ménardeau

Wednesday 16 January 2013 17:30-19:00

Though born in Limoges, Ménardeau spent a great deal of time at Concarneau and his paintings capture the tuna and sardine fishermen in the 1920s and 30s as well as harbour scenes, markets and Breton pardons. Ménardeau also travelled widely: Europe, Africa, Asia and in fact was called the ‘Gauguin de l’Ile Maurice’. A recent retrospective exhibition at the Musée du Faouet in Quimper allows us to discover the richness and variety of this artist’s work.
