Portrait de Danton par Constance-Marie Charpentier

    Musée Carnavalet, Paris.

Georges Danton (1759-1794), in the same way as Maximilien Robespierre (1758-1794), remains a French Revolution figure who cannot be ignored. Some very unclear aspects of his life have established the ‘Danton’s myth’. But who was he really? The next café histoire will try to answer this fascinating question.
