In 1963, after decades of conflicts and instability, France and Germay signed the Elysee Treaty, a turning point in the history of the European integration process.
In the light of the global financial crisis, a panel debate on the future of the European Union is organized at the University of Edinburgh, under the title ’Franco-German relations have driven European integration but what does the future hold for the EU?’.
This event is scheduled as part of the exhibition ’Celebrating 50 Years of Franco-German Friendship’, from 4th to 20th March 2013 at the University of Edinburgh, in association with the French and German Consulates-General in Edinburgh.
