Cinéma : L’Enfer d’Henri-Georges Clouzot

Wednesday 13 February 2019 17:30-19:30

The cinéma programme at the Institut français d’Ecosse screens a new film every Wednesday at 2:00pm and 6:45pm. These events are free, but for members only. We invite you to book early and if you are not yet a member of the Institut français d’Ecosse, we invite you to join. Our film this week is L’Enfer d’Henri-Georges Clouzot by Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea.

In 1964, the author of the "Corbeau" and "Quai des orfèvres" chose Romy Schneider (26 years old) and Serge Reggiani to be the starts of his new film : "L’Enfer". An unlimited budget for a chef d’oeuvre. But the shooting is a disaster and it stopped after 3 weeks. In 2009, the lost and forgotten pictures of this curse movie are rediscovered. And they are amazing ... César of the best documentary in 2010

The movie will be introduced with a presentation by Prof. Marion Schmid (University of Edinburgh).

Starring Romy Schneider, Serge Reggiani, Bérénice Bejo
