Synopsis
Once again CinemaAttic presents favourite short films made by Basque filmmakers in the last year, hosting the prestigious Kimuak selection in partnership with Etxepare Basque Institute, Basque Government and Filmoteca Vasca. A beautiful word in Basque somehow apt for the occasion, ‘kimuak’ stands for sprouting, blooming. We are all returning slowly to public life and public events, humans blossoming with smiles on their faces like buds awaiting to open. Let’s celebrate this new awakening of our cultural life with a surrealistic, entertaining collection of films fresh out from the Basque Country.

A truly rollercoasting programme, with short films that go from Basque folkloric horror to surreal comedy (plenty of comedy). You’ll find animation legends like Bego Vicario, Basque favourites like Koldo Almandoz (The Deer), futuristic cosmic comedies from Pablo Hernando - one of Spain’s greatest post-comedy directors - and promising young talent fresh from the newly established San Sebastián Elias Querejeta Film School (Marina Palacio).
