Cognac and pineau

Friday 23 March 2012 18:00-20:00

Institut français d’Ecosse

13 Randolph crescent Edinburgh EH3 7TT

To celebrate the arrival of spring, come join us and warm yourself up with a cognac! For this tasting event, we will be talking about the vine; however, we won’t be talking directly about wine, but of a unique spirit: cognac. Cognac is often regarded as a luxury drink, but do you really know it? Fermentation, distillation, the maturing process...we will be explaining all of the steps necessary to create an excellent cognac, from the grape to the soil to the production...
During the evening we will also be discovering another speciality of the Charente’s vineyard: white and rosé pineaux which will soften your pallets and will give you a taste for the best aperitifs!

Talk in French (advanced level)
