EDINBURGH: The Rencontres théâtrales took place on Wednesday 13 March 2013 at Broughton High school in Edinburgh
Once again what amazing performances on stage from very enthusiastic pupils! Congratulations to you all. BRAVO et merci à tous for this veryenjoyable celebration of the French language.
All groups won a prize and a certificate. A special prize went to “South Morningside primary school” for a very humoristic “Une journée à Paris” , St Mary’s RC primary school in Leith (P7) for playing la belle et la bête (the beauty and the biest) and The Mary Erskine school (S3) for “la mauvaise note” or how to announce with humor to your parents your bad mark in spelling, maths or geography!

“The “Rencontres théâtrales 2011“ took place during the “Semaine de la langue française” on 21rst March at the French Institute for primary schools (P3-P7), on 23rd March at the Dyce Academy in Aberdeen, at the St Augustine’s High School in Edinburgh for secondary schools, and At White hill secondary school in Glasgow on 6th June 2011.

Congratulations to all groups which habe been taken part in it this year. The judges were very impressed by the high quality of the performances and the enthusiasm of pupils playing on stage in French.
A special thank you to the hosting schools, Dyce Academy in Aberdeen, St Augustine’s High School in Edinburgh and Whitehill Secondary School in Glasgow.
Rencontres théâtrales in Edinburgh:
The 1rst prize for the category “Primary schools” went to St Ninians Primary School (Livingston). 44 P3 pupils conducted by their teacher Jane Keegan performed with energy, enthousiasm and enjoyment the well known fary tale “Boucle d’ or et les trois ours”.
The 1rst prize for the category “Secondary schools” won the - St Columba’s RC High School for “Le songe d’une nuit d’été”.
Rencontres théâtrales in Aberdeen:
The 1rst prize in Aberdeen for the category “Primary schools” went to the Westpark Primary School with a piece “la surprise de Handa” the class created integrating phrases, songs they learned in French lessons.
The 1rst prize for the category “Secondary schools” has been won by the Bucksburn Academy with its “histoire bizarre”.
Rencontres théâtrales in Glasgow:
The 1rst prize in Glasgow for the category “Primary schools” went to the Edinburgh academy with “Blanche neige et les 7 nains”.
The 1rst prize for the category “Secondary schools” has been won by the Coatbridge High School with its “ca aurait dû être moi!”".
