Dear Headteachers,
French Teachers and French Assistants,
Every year, a large number of events take place in France
to celebrate reading, within the framework of Lire en
fête.
The Education Officer posted in Scotland on behalf of
the French Foreign Office, is taking this opportunity
to encourage the use of the French language at school,
through a recreational competition for classes P1 to
S2. The winners will receive books and games
in French.
This year, the topic is as follows: produce a story
presenting the place where you live to:
- an animal, for classes P1, P2 and P3;
- a famous character from a tale, for classes P4, P5,
P6 and P7;
- a famous comic strip character, for classes S1 and
S2.
The following rules apply:
- Entries may be submitted for whole classes or groups
of at least four students.
- A school may submit several entries.
- Productions must be presented on a booklet, format
A5, A4 or A3.
- Texts must be in French and handwritten.
- Illustrations must be creative: drawings, paintings
or assembling of images made by the students.
Productions must be brought or sent, together
with the above Entry Form, by 20 December 2008,
to: Institut Français d’Ecosse
- Education Department – 13 Randolph Crescent
– Edinburgh EH3 7TT.
A jury will designate the winners, on the following
criteria: coherence of the story, quality of illustrations,
