Fête de la Musique 2018

Thursday 21 June 19:00-22:00

Created in 1982 the Fête de la musique is now an established tradition in France (and many other places around Europe and the Francophone world) taking place on the 21st of June. On that very special day, every musician – amateur or professional – comes out onto the streets, the squares, and the cafés to perform for free.

This summer, our Fête falls on the same day as our Vive le Fringe ! 2018 launch. The programme for the evening will proceed as follows:

  • 7.00pm: Debussy’s Estampes, played by Yura Zaiki of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
  • 7.20pm: Verre d’amitié for the double celebration of our Fringe programme and the Fête de la musique
  • 7.30pm: Dance troupe led by Audrey Wawrzacz
  • 7.40pm: Open stage and dance floor for karaoke and dancing: enjoy the spirit of the Fête de la musique by sharing your talents, having fun, and participating in the party until late!

If you would like to participate in the Fête de la Musique as a musician or performer, please contact us at 0131 285 60 30 or info ifecosse.org.uk.
