About the artist:

Winners of the 2021 ProPulse classique competition, the Trio Jenlis unites the three siblings Axel (cellist), Mathilde (violinist) and Héloïse de Jenlis (harpist). Sharing the same passion for chamber music, they wish to promote the rarely performed repertoire for violin, cello and harp. For this concert, they embark on a musical journey from Paris to London, performing works by French composers, including Karol Beffa’s Soleil noir. The second half of the programme will be dedicated to Irish, Scottish and English traditional music.

Thanks to the great harmony of the timbres of the three instruments, as well as the complicity of these three brothers and sisters, the concerts of the Trio Jenlis offer unique musical moments.

The trio for violin, cello and harp is an infrequent formation whose magnificent repertoire is unknown to the public. The Jenlis trio is therefore delighted to promote it. To expand the repertoire of their formation, in 2019, the trio commissioned a work from composer Karol Beffa (composer of the year at the Victoires de la Musique 2013 and 2018). With its original formation, the Trio Jenlis also offers a wide variety of arrangements of well-known pieces and lesser-known works,

Each work performed is presented orally by Axel (MPhil in Music Studies from the University of Cambridge (Cantab.), making the concerts accessible to all audiences.
