In Burkina Faso, plastic bags draw children into rubbish bins… Wabinlé Nabié’s documentary short was shot in the context of the Ateliers Varan in Burkina Faso. It won first prize at the Sicili Ambiente Documentary Film Festival.
In a small town located near the Cévennes mountains, a portrait of the now abandoned "rue de l’Industrie" is painted. On one side, an old silk factory is being restored and transformed into a new Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions; the builders speak of the changing work conditions. On the other side, the residents of a dilapidated social housing estate form a poor and disparate people. A wall separates these two sides of development.
Bruno, a 30-year-old fisherman, fights to keep on pursuing his passion in Guadeloupe, despite pesky seaweed, the toxic pesticide Kepone, and his wife’s doubts… The only apparent option is to change careers.
A bench in the east of Paris is facing its last days as the construction of the new tram approaches. Youths gather nightly around the bench and bear witness of the way they have "lived" their neighborhood, testimonies delivered between dreams and disillusion.
