Since 2019, the Institut français d’Ecosse has been hosting screenings of contemporary German films in partnership with Goethe-Institut in Glasgow. Few hours of serendipity every once in a while, c’est wunderbar!

Film synopsis
The movie deals with the real life story of East German singer and writer Gerhard Gundermann and his struggles with music, life as a coal miner and his dealings with the secret police (STASI) of the GDR.

Face coverings are mandatory to move around the building. A one-way system is in place throughout the building with an entrance via George IV Bridge only and exit via West Parliament Square. Hand sanitizers are also available in the building.
