About the author:

Cécile Coulon is a French novelist, short story writer and poet. At the age of 16, she published her first novel entitled Le voleur de vie (2007). Her first collection of short stories, Sauvages, was published by Éditions Revoir in 2008. She then published Méfiez-vous des enfants (2010), Le roi n’a pas sommeil (2012), Prix Mauvais Genres France Culture / Le Nouvel Observateur, Le rire du grand blessé (2013), Le coeur du pélican (2015). At the age of 26, she published her eighth book, Trois saisons d’orage, which won the 2017 Bookstore Award. Her first collection of poems Les Ronces, published in 2018 at Castor Astral, received the Guillaume-Apollinaire Award, as well as the Award for the Révélation de la poésie de la Société des gens de lettres. The young poet was then considered in the press as "one of the most promising new voices in French literature". Une bête au Paradis received, in 2019, the literary award by Le Monde.
