While all shows are off at the Institute, we relocate to Summerhall for the day to present "The best of French new writing", a series of three new French plays translated into English: "Going Through" by Estelle Savasta at 14:35, "It's Christmas so deal with it" by Pierre Notte at 16:15 and "Country" by Pedro Kadivar at 20:45. Jean-Christophe Rufin

French diplomat, historian, novelist, co-founder of Doctors Without Borders… Jean-Christophe Rufin’s many hats are as different as they are impressive. Guest of the Edinburgh International Book Festival, he will join us at the Institut to talk about his multiple lives, his experiences and his view on literature.

Tahar Ben Jelloun

We are delighted to welcome award-winning novelist, essayist, critic and poet Tahar Ben Jelloun for our last café littéraire. Also guest of the Edinburgh Book Festival, he will join us for an open discussion and present his book About my Mother that has recently been published in the UK.
