Paintings by Douglas Davies R.S.W.

"This exhibition is a celebration of a long affaire d’amour with Paris, concentrating on the small and tranquil rather than the grand and imposing landmarks of the great city.
Cafes, bridges, trees in their autumn colours, form the basis of the paintings which were all completed in the studio from a series of sketches, photographs and many, many hours of wandering the streets of Paris absorbing the unique sounds, sights and smells which are unmistakably Paris.
The "City of Light" has been a passion and inspiration to many people for many years, like a magnate for the creative senses.
I’m never sad to leave Paris – I know I’ll be back."
