For the semaine de la francophonie, we are very pleased to work in partnership with WBI-Wallonie Bruxelles International to present the avant premiere of "L’Homme qui répare les femmes" at Filmhouse Cinema.

Winner of the Sakharov Prize 2014, Doctor Mukwege is internationally known as the man who mends thousands of women who have been raped during the 20 years of conflicts in the East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, one of the poorest countries on the planet, despite its extremely rich sub-soil.

A depiction of the day-to-day life of an extraordinary individual, who has survived several assassination attempts, whilst never relenting on his struggle against barbarity.

A film by Thierry Michel and Colette Braeckman
Screening followed by a Q&A with co-author and director Colette Braeckman
Filmhouse, 88 Lothian Road, Edinburgh EH3 9BZ
Admission: £9 (£7.20)
