2013 marks the 30th anniversary of Louis de Funes’ death. An occasion to celebrate one of the giants of Gallic comedy with a special screening of the film that made him famous, followed by a celebratory banquet.

While sneaking four suitcases of precious pork across a blacked-out Occupied Paris, straight arrow blackmarketeer Bourvil nervously watches as out-for-adventure painter Jean Gabin hilariously talks his way past French police and German soldiers.

Appearing as the black-market pork butcher Jambier, Louis de Funes finally gets with this film the break that will lead him to become France’s leading comic actor and long time box office draw.
