Lending regulations


All documents may be borrowed with the exception of those situated in the reference section and the latest issue of magazines.



Borrowing rights are reserved for members of the Institute only. Please visit our Become a Member page for more details and tariffs.

Loans for standard membership cardholders
- 6 books
- 6 CDs
- 6 magazines (except latest issue)
- 2 CD
- 2 documentaries (DVDs)
- 2 films (DVDs)

Loans for family membership cardholders
- Same as ‘standard’ but x2

Loan period
- One week for fiction films and three weeks for all other documents

Renewals
Items on loan may be renewed no more than twice by phone, by email or in person providing no one else has reserved them.

Reservations
Items may be reserved by phone, by email or in person.

Fines
Rates:
- For lost or damaged items: fixed rate of £10 per item.
Card block:
- Patrons with a fine of £10 will not be allowed to borrow, renew or request items until payment has been received.
