Les BOF!

Thursday 15 November 2012 20:30-23:00

Les BOF!, premier 1960s garage rockers of French language in Great Britain, celebrate in style the arrival of the Beaujolais Nouveau!

Les BOF! is a four-piece fronted by French singer Laurent Mombel from Marseille and backed up by 3 Scottish musicians : Angus (guitar and singer), Colin (bass and singer) and Ross (drums).

They deliver on stage a mix of 1960s punk garage, beat and yéyé songs, both covers (Jacques Dutronc, Ronnie Bird...) and originals of the likes of ’Femme Impossible’, ’L’autre coté’ and ’Vivre avec toi’.

They released their debut album ’Nous sommes... Les BOF!’ in 2011 and play regularly in Scotland and in Festivals abroad.

‘Bof’ literally translates as `don’t care!’ or `not interested!’ and is typically used by French people when asked an opinion and usually delivered with a laid-back shrug.

But come dance and share with them an after-gig glass of Beaujolais Nouveau, you’ll see it’s all but ’bof’!

Admission free

Before the concert, Laurent Mombel will be in L’Oreille Musicale with Gildas Bouric from 6 pm for a discussion around French 1960s garage rock.
