The Institut français d’Ecosse, in partnership with SCILT, launched in 2016 le concours de la francophonie, a new national competition to encourage all young French learners and their teachers around Scotland and to celebrate the international day of la francophonie.
Here are the winners of this 2016 edition :
WINNER: East Lothian – Cockenzie Primary – P1
RUNNER-UP: Edinburgh City – Royal High Primary – P2
WINNER: Inverclyde – St Ninian’s Primary School – P7
RUNNER-UP: Stirling – Doune Primry – P5
WINNER: North Lanarkshire – Coatbridge High – S1
WINNER: Glasgow City – Smithycroft Secondary – S4
The 6 winning teams were invited to celebrate la journée mondiale de la francophonie at the University of Edinburgh on Friday 18 March 2016.

For this first edition, we have received entries from the Councils of Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Clackmannanshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Dundee City, East Lothian, Edinburgh City, Fife, Glasgow City, Highlands, Inverclyde, Midlothian, North Lanarkshire, Perth & Kinross, South Ayrshire, Stirling, West Lothian and from various independent schools.
