Parenthèse (danse): creating Hansel & Gretel

Wednesday 9 November 2016 18:00-19:30

Join us for an exclusive talk in French by Scottish Ballet dancers Marge Hendrick and Constant Vigier as they discuss the creation process behind the Company’s upcoming winter ballet Hansel & Gretel.

Discover more about the creation of this festive family favourite as well as the themes explored in the production. Hear first-hand from Scottish Ballet’s dancers about what it is like to perform in Scottish Ballet’s reinterpretation of this classic fairy-tale.

Hansel & Gretel is the perfect winter treat for the whole family. It follows Hansel and Gretel on their fantastic journey through the magic forest, where sweets come to life and a beautiful woman is not all she seems. This delightfully inventive ballet takes creative twists and turns inspired by the Grimm Brother’s famous fairy tale – and the stories and imagination of the people of Scotland.

Scottish Ballet’s Hansel & Gretel will run from Saturday 10 to Saturday 31st December 2016 at Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.
