Poissons d’avril

Sunday 1 April 2012 11:00-16:00

Institut français d’Ecosse

13 Randolph Crescent Edinburgh EH3 7TT

The budding chefs are back! After the success of the 2011 edition, the Institut francais and Frédéric Berkmiller team-up again with the Lycée Hôtelier in Dinard (Brittany) to bring 11 French students to Scotland to discover the larder and meet the best chefs in town!

Poissons d’avril (‘Fishes of April’) is the French equivalent of the April’s Fool. Come along to the Institute to discover easy-to-do recipes involving cheap fishes (mackerel, herring, sardines, pilchards, kippers etc) through workshops and tastings.

Edinburgh based starred chefs will give their special tips and share their concern about food and health, cost of living and produce sourcing while the budding chefs will offer bites of fine fish products from Scotland, Brittany and Belgium (rillettes de sardines, smoked trouts, etc), to enjoy with a glass of white wine.

Discover fish in all sorts of ways, meet the budding and professional chefs, and celebrate good food with us!

(This is not a joke!)
