Cinema TV Concert by Red + Tessier + Marinescu

French Film Festival UK 2010 Special Event proposed by the Institut Français d’Ecosse

“No other film, no other theatre play in the world could convey as many emotions and contradictory feelings, as the semi final [which France lost] in Seville.” Michel Platini

Spain, 8 July 1982. FIFA World Cup. Sanchez Pizjuán stadium in Seville is packed. Seventy thousand people are gathered for the semi final where France faces Germany (at that time Federal Republic of Germany). Red, Tessier and Marinescu Trio finds again about this legendary sports meeting his favourite playground, the stage, to give an intense and personal interpretation. Originally 150 minutes long, because of the extra times and the shots at goal, the version of the game for ‘Seville 82’ is a 60 minutes long editing, images directed by Christian Beuchet.

The Red + Tessier + Marinescu Trio is composed by:
> Tonio Marinescu (drums): Leader of the pop rock stage, with a great experience of both recording studio and stage, he comes from Rennes and has played with bands like avec Kalashnikov, Coyote Pass, Christian Dargelos, Dizzy Roméo, Dominic Sonic, Casse Pipe, Bruno Green, Philippe Pascal (ex-Marquis de Sade)… He plays now with Red (record and concert) and is a member of Rio Cinéma Orchestra.
> Red (guitars, vocals, samples): "Lenin’s face and Lennon’s talent" wrote French cultural magazine Telerama abouth singer and guitar player Red. After 4 albums praised by the critics and the audience, Red follows his way, knowing how to sprinkle it with meetings and original projects, mixing folk rock and free musics. Songwriter and first class composer, he also has another surprising musical project The Nightcrawler.
> Philippe Tessier (saxophones, samples): Trained at Rennes National Academy and very early jazz and improvised music player, he has played with drummer Régïs Boulard or with Red. He also founded with Tonio Marinescu Hang Left Devil. Member of the Rio Cinéma Orchestra, Philippe Tessier has also composed and performed several short films and documentaries soundtracks.
