We are delighted to welcome Odile Hughson on Tuesday, 26th October at the Institut français d’Ecosse to present her book, Royal Friendships.
The Orléans branch of the French Royal family sought refuge in Britain intermittently for more than a century from the 1800s. They developed various friendships, often revealed by unpublished correspondence, ranging from Queen Victoria to the daughter of a servant.
Odile Hughson, volunteer guide at the museum of Scotland for the last 20 years, describes their life in exile and the places they visited, including Scotland. She presents her book, published in both French and English, ’Amitiés Royales’ and ’Royal Friendships’.
