Along with One Fine Morning, we will show Darkness in the Afternoon (1999, dir. Christeen Winford). The film will be introduced by Dr Malgorzata Bugaj (University of Edinburgh).

Christeen Winford is an international award-winning filmmaker, dedicated to giving a voice to excluded groups and individuals. Her Thief in the Night (1988) was the first documentary to feature people living with dementia speaking directly about their feelings and experiences. Her documentaries and dramas, including Darkness in the Afternoon (1999) and Saved (2001), challenge stigmas around dementia.
Dr Malgorzata Bugaj teaches Film and Media at the University of Edinburgh. Her interests revolve around medical humanities and film, especially on-screen representations of dementia.
