Through a collaboration between the Goethe-Institut Glasgow, Institut français d’Écosse, and ClimateCulture, the Earth Month brings together artists, thinkers, and changemakers to showcase the essential role of culture in addressing sustainability challenges through film, music, performance, and more.

Laurent Quesada, head of comic book programming at the Cabaret Vert Festival, will be talking about Ecology in Comics and will introduce the Exhibition Prix BD Cabaret Vert.

Featuring Professor Pete Smith, a leading expert on climate change, and Dr. Alasdair Allan MSP, this event will introduce the Earth Month project, celebrating the intersection of art, sustainability, and action.

Led by Noémie Jollet, this science-based workshop aims to raise awareness about climate change through an interactive card game, providing insights into how and why the climate is changing.

Protecting Our Ocean Heritage

Seaweed, according to specialist Vincent Doumeizel, holds the solution to an array of world problems ranging from global warming to hunger. Join us for a talk about the importance of protecting our Ocean Heritage and changing our perception of seaweed.

Greening Scotland’s Cities: Heritage & Sustainability

Experts like Professor Rohinton Emmanuel and Anna Heringer will explore how Scotland’s cities can balance heritage preservation with the urgent need for sustainability, focusing on energy-efficient retrofitting and rewilding neighborhoods.

Rewilding Scotland: From Past to Future

Pierre-Henri Guignard, Alan Watson Featherstone, and Stephanie Kiel will discuss the importance of rewilding in restoring Scotland’s ecosystems and strengthening biodiversity.
8:00 pm: The discussion will be followed by a screening of “Pourquoi on se bat” /(“Why We Fight”, 2023) by activist Camille Étienne and Solal Moisan.
