This year, we are delighted to mark the enduring friendship between France and Scotland through a special programme of events celebrating the 730th Anniversary of the Auld Alliance.
The celebrations will open on 22 October with a conference on Franco-Scottish Relations in Trade, Business and Work organized by the Franco-Scottish society which celebrates its 130 anniversary this year. On 23 October the Institut français d’Écosse will host two conferences offering an opportunity for reflection and discussion on the historical, social and economic dimensions of the Franco-Scottish relationship, followed by a concert at St Giles’ Cathedral. Alongside these events, a Franco-Scottish fair will showcase the creativity and craftsmanship inspired by both countries, providing a vibrant space for cultural exchange.
Together, these events honour the spirit of the Auld Alliance and invite all to celebrate centuries of shared history and friendship.
