Chers étudiants, chers membres de l’Institut français d’Écosse,

Dear Institut français d’Écosse Students, dear Members,

You may have already heard about the new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and received a lot of emails asking for your express consent to remain on newsletter lists or to continue receiving updates from various organisations.

This European regulation offers an increased level of privacy protection and became effective 25 May 2018 (For more information regarding GDPR, see the ICO website or si vous voulez tester votre français sur la RGPD, le site de la CNIL). We at the Institute take the protection of your data very seriously and we have updated our data privacy policy accordingly. The most important changes are:

We provide you with more information on how we use your personal data. No big secret here as the French Institute will NEVER sell your data to anyone or use them in a commercial way. We will only send you our monthly cultural/educational newsletter and announcements for special events.

We have described clearly how to get your data erased from our system (if you want that to happen before the normal date of destruction of your data, i.e., 2 years after your last class with us).

Extensive information can be found in the updated Institut français privacy policy.

If you take no action, we will assume that you’re happy with your current choice and the mailing you receive from us. If you should change your mind in the future, you can always unsubscribe from our newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each e-mail and/or contact us for destruction of the data held by us.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward continuing to offer you the best experience possible!

A très bientôt à l’Institut français d’Écosse
