This special international premiere at the French Institute will feature an in-person Q&A with filmmaker Eduardo Montero, live music by Inma Montero and Danielo Olivera, and a toast with Spanish wines to celebrate the “Iberian hug” between Spain and Portugal.
Amaranta Cano investigates the murder and alleged love affair that inspired her father, singer-songwriter Carlos Cano’s most famous and internationally celebrated song. Travelling between Andalusia and Portugal, she reconstructs the story through conversations with key witnesses and invites acclaimed artists to reimagine the legendary fado.
