Organized in partnership with Cinetopia, the Cinetopia Salons are a new monthly gathering where cinema comes alive through live performance, tasty nibbles and drinks, and great conversation. It’s more than just a screening: it’s a chance to connect, share ideas, and celebrate film in a welcoming space.
German cinema
The Institut français d’Écosse is hosting free screenings of German films in partnership with the Goethe-Institut in Glasgow. Discover contemporary German cinema, outstanding TV productions and film classics. Films are in German with English subtitles.
French Film Festival UK
The Institut français d’Écosse is proud to be a partner of the French Film Festival UK every November and December. The selections showcase a broad spectrum of French language cinema, from major hits to creations by cutting edge directors. Films are in French with English subtitles.
Edinburgh Film Guild
Throughout the year, the Institut français d’Écosse is hosting screenings in partnership with the Edinburgh Film Guild. The Edinburgh Film Guild is the world’s longest continually running film society. For more than 80 years, their mission has been to programme a full variety of films past and present, films that are rarely shown on the big screen, and films that are just too good to be forgotten.
