Auld Alliance Comics Festival

5 & 6 July

Join us for a vibrant weekend celebrating the rich worlds of French and Scottish comics in partnership with La Belle Adventure!

Discover incredible graphic novels, meet talented authors and illustrators from both countries, attend a live drawing session, talks, workshops, exhibitions and more! Whether you’re a lifelong fan or just comic-curious, there’s something for all ages.

 

For this event, we have the pleasure to welcome 4 awarded artists as Guests of Honor:

 

The Festival will also host an Artists Alley with local French and Scottish creators and publishers:

 

Talks and signings:

  • Panel with our Guests of Honor on Saturday 5 July, hosted by Anabelle from La Belle Adventure. This talk will be followed by a signing session. Free event, booking in advance is advised!
  • Talk about The Glasgow Looking Glass from its creation, legacy and a presentation of the new ‘Looking-Glass’, with comics expert and artists John McShane, Peter Renshaw and Colin Maxwell, on Sunday 6 July.

 

Two Exhibitions dedicated to:

  • Guests of Honor
  • The Glasgow Looking Glass, iconic comics magazine created the 11th June 1825. This exhibition will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the ‘Glasgow Looking-Glass’, the world’s first comic magazine in Scotland and its rebirth in 2025

 

Animations:

During the weekend, the talented artist Anna Schiraldi will propose a workshop to learn how the create your own character and other tips to start your own comics venture.
Alexandra Borghino will welcome kids for a musical tale, Saturday morning.

 

La Belle Adventure will present a large range of graphic novels, translated in English and in original French, including the books of the Guests of Honor and signing sessions in the afternoons.

11.00 to 16.00: Workshop with Anna Schiraldi

14.00 to 15.00: Talk with the Guests of Honor (booking in advance is advised)

15.00 to 17.00: Signing with the Guests of Honor

17.30: End of the day

17.45 to 18.30: Live Drawing Concert with Alfred (booking in advance is advised)

 

Sunday 6 July :
