Arnaud de la Grange is a journalist, UK and Ireland correspondent for Le Figaro, and a writer. His latest novel: “La promesse du large » won The « Encre marine » Prize in 2024.

Aidan lost his father and mother in a shipwreck when he was just an infant. Raised by his grandparents, the teenager preferred to hide his family history. At the age of twenty-six, he decided to trace his parents. The young man returns to the small Breton port off the coast where the couple disappeared. In this village, he encounters collective guilt over this maritime tragedy, but he also meets a young woman passionate about art and the ocean. Their destinies will become inexorably linked. This novel explores the weight of repressed intimate wounds, which hinder progress. Imbued with poetry, it is also a cry of love to the sea, the last space of freedom and refuge for wounded souls.

Etienne Duval, journalist and writer, correspondent for the Swiss TV and radio, will moderate the interview.
