One of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Francophone literature, Congolese writer Fiston Mwanza Mujila will be presenting his major works, with a particular focus on his novel La danse du vilain, published by Éditions Métailié and recently translated into English. Known for his energetic, musical prose and vivid storytelling, Mujila’s writing explores the rhythms and tensions of urban life with remarkable intensity.
He will be joined by his English translator, Roland Glasser, for a conversation about the novel and the creative process of bringing it into English. Together they will discuss themes in the book, the relationship between writer and translator, and the journey of a work across languages.
