Reading group “Notre guerre civile” by Judith Perrignon

Once a month, the reading group meets up to discuss a couple of books selected in advance (from classical to contemporary French literature) and discovers other members’ views on them. Meetings take place at the Institut français d’Écosse, usually on the last Tuesday of the month.

About the book:

The non-fiction/essay work focuses on the Paris Commune of 1871 and centers heavily on the life, prison archives, and political journey of the anarchist and feminist figure Louise Michel (1830–1905), as well as her correspondence with Victor Hugo.
