From 2 to 8 November 2026, come and celebrate 80 years of the Institut français d’Écosse with a week of special events marking its enduring role in bringing France and Scotland closer together! Part of a worldwide network, the Institut français d’Écosse is a vibrant space for cultural exchange, offering French language courses, film screenings, library collections, activities for children, festivals, talks and concerts all year long.

For this special anniversary, experience a dazzling mapping projection on the façade of the Institut in partnership with the Edinburgh Napier University, discover the fascinating story of this unique institution with author Odile Hughson and Consul General Stéphane Pailler, and see the Institut in a whole new light on an inspiring guided tour led by comedians. The programme will also feature a conference with acclaimed crime writer Peter May, an exceptional concert by the remarkable Christine Bovill, and a jazz performance by the Levi Harvey Trio. Join us for a week of culture, conversation and celebration, as we mark 80 years of friendship and exchange between France and Scotland!
