From 1 April to 10 May 2025, it is with great joy and anticipation that we welcome you to the inaugural edition of the Baroque Music Festival. This celebration is a tribute to the rich and timeless artistry of the Baroque era—a period that transformed music into a profound expression of emotion, grandeur, and innovation.
The Baroque age (1600–1750) gifted the world with composers whose works remain pillars of musical heritage. From the intricate fugues of J.S. Bach to the stirring operas of Handel, and the evocative concertos of Vivaldi, the music of this period continues to captivate hearts and minds across generations.
This festival offers a unique journey through the splendor of Baroque music, presented by talented performers dedicated to bringing these masterworks to life. Through harpsichords, violins, voices, and more, we hope to evoke the vibrancy and elegance of an era where music flourished as an art of beauty, refinement, and human connection. Local and European musicians will be performing in Edinburgh and Glasgow : Jan Waterfield, Héloïse Bernard, Anne-Marie Klein, Caroline Cradock, John Kitchen, Arusha Nazari, Antoine Morinière, Mujie Yan and Maxim Emelyanychev.
