The European Day of Languages is a special event that celebrates the linguistic diversity of Europe and the benefits of learning multiple languages. Organized by the Council of Europe and the European Union, this day is marked by a wide range of activities, including language classes, cultural events, and educational programs. The aim is to encourage lifelong language learning and to showcase the diverse languages spoken across Europe.
On this occasion, the Institut français d’Écosse will host a conference on 25 September on Aberlangs, a partnership initiative supporting multilingualism and the presence of home, heritage and community languages in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. On 27 September, don’t miss a magical celebration of books, linguistic diversity and creativity at the Children’s Book Festival at the Institut français d’Écosse!
