French language training for Scotland’s primary school teachers

Committed to the continuing professional development of primary school teachers of French in Scotland, the Institut français d’Ecosse organises a free online training programme to develop their language skills. 

This programme is intended to help teachers develop their langue skills in order to feel more confident in the classroom. Please note that the course will not cover the pedagogy of teaching French and will not provide any teaching materials or techniques. 

 

Who? 

Primary school teachers of French with no or very basic knowledge of French. 

Any interested teacher registers for all training sessions and commit to attending at least 5 of the 7 sessions. 

At the end of the training programme, a certificate will be delivered to participants who will have attended at least 5 of the 7 sessions. 

 

How many? 

The training programme will be limited to 10 places. 

 

What? 

The general French language programme includes the following topics: greetings, introductions, classroom objects, classroom instructions, numbers, seasons, months, colours, clothing, body parts, weather.  

French phonics are included in the programme.

Fridays, 1-2.30pm 

September 19 

October 3, 17, 31 

November 14, 28 

December 12 

 

How many hours in total?  

10,5 hours over 7 sessions of 1,5 hour each. 

 

How? 

The training is organised online, via Teams. 

Participation is subject to registration.
