The Institut français d’Écosse is a home for French language and culture, where every room bears the name of a remarkable figure. Who were they, and what links them to both France and Scotland?

These names are not there by chance: they tell the stories of lives, choices, and commitments, and sometimes of extraordinary destinies. What if these characters could speak to us? What if they still had something to tell us today? Let’s step through the doors… let’s meet them. Perhaps they will agree to reveal a fragment of their history.
